Junior Data Analyst portfolio group (mid-September to mid-December 2026): A three-month peer group for junior data analysts building a public analytics portfolio, with mentor sessions and peer feedback. Community members are gauging interest – fill in the survey if this sounds relevant.
All Day AI (Thursday 22 October 2026, online): A free online conference where practitioners who have shipped AI in production explain what held up and what broke. Four tracks: Build, Lead, Secure, Ship. The call for speakers is open too.
Helsinki Data Week 2026 (26–30 October 2026, Helsinki): An annual week of data events across Helsinki with talks on data strategy, analytics and AI.
Since AI Hackathon 2026 (6–8 November 2026, Turku): A free 72-hour AI build weekend organised by a student-led nonprofit, with a €50,000 prize pool and challenges from Finnish companies and public-sector organisations. You can apply individually – no team or startup needed.
Junction 2026 (13–15 November 2026, Espoo): Europe's largest hackathon, 48 hours across AI, hardware, sustainability, fintech, health, defense and quantum tracks. Registration closes 25 October. PyData Helsinki has a registration code – ask on our Discord.

Archipylago is a community in Turku with meetups and sprints.
This meetup is for those who work or aspire to work in fields like
machine learning, data engineering, MLOps, visualization, and statistical modeling.
We share real-world experiences about solving problems in these fields using open-source tools,
including but not limited to Python and its libraries – users of R, Julia or other languages are welcome.
We welcome speakers to talk about these tools and experiences using them, regardless of the level (beginner, intermediate, advanced are welcome).
The usual talk is about half an hour long, but lightning talks of 5–10 minutes are great too!
Occasionally we will include a debate! Come with a thought-provoking question or a hot take,
and we'll set up a discussion where everyone can take part.
